RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner and collaborate with Managers to clarify requirements and job descriptions
  • Draft and place job postings as required
  • Source, screen and recruit talent for assigned postings as requested
  • Coordinate phone and on-site interviews as required
  • Reference and background checks as required
  • Prepare & present employment offers, related H.R. documentation and paperwork
  • Obtain signed offers complete with all required HR documentation
  • Coordinate the onboarding and orientation of new employees and exit interviews
  • Administration of Group Benefits, Group RRSP and 401K Programs, ensure all documentation is completed and signatures are in place
  • HR point of contact for any employee relation challenges
  • Ensure employees have supplied the necessary information for payroll processing
  • Set up employee profiles in Salesforce
  • Assist with the administration and maintenance of payroll system
  • Assist with the annual performance reviews and bonus calculations
  • Prepares and analyzes reports, prepare periodic reports for management as necessary or requested (including employee retention, attendance and others)
  • Ensure all employees and management successfully complete their Health & Safety training
  • Issue Record of Employments (ROI)
  • Prepare employment, termination and severance letters as required
  • When offboarding a salaried employee, if applicable send the Reminder Legal Non-Solicitation Agreement Letter
    Maintain employee files including documentation to managers on performance issues and progressive discipline, up to and including termination
  • Assist with employee transfers, coordinate paperwork, workplace Visa’s etc.
  • Assist with coordination of LMIA Labour Market Impact Assessments and other administrative duties relating to Immigration
  • Ensuring we follow Health & Safety changes and government legislation from HR perspective
  • Participate in the Corporate Joint Health & Safety committee
  • Responsible for effective and efficient case management of WSIB claims
  • Maintain records of active claims and prepare statistical reports
  • Assist with development and implementation of HR Policies, and ensuring compliance with appropriate laws
  • Ensure company is in compliance with background screening and Vulnerable Sector Searches as required of our clients
  • Ensure Employee Handbook is kept current
  • Obtain proof of WSIB Insurance as required
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of all training material
  • Establish HR metrics through data retrieval
  • Ensure all uniformed staff are supplied with appropriate attire
  • Human Resource projects as determined by COO/CFO
  • Participate on the Culture Committee
  • Review and prepare legal documentation as required
  • Act as a back-up for office administration and office management duties
  • Assists with maintenance of Internal Certification Program
  • Maintain Canadian & US Employee Handbooks and Procedures Manual
  • Maintenance of HR Portal
  • Assist with administration of Work.com features including; Coaching, Goal Setting and Recognition (Badges)

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of a College degree or equivalent diploma in Human Resources
  • Strong knowledge of hiring process
  • Evidence in the practice of a high level of confidentiality
  • Working towards the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Flexible with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Understanding of Ontario, Nevada & California employment legislation and regulations
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Sound judgement and discretion in dealing with confidential situations, issues and documentation
  • Occupational Health and Safety regulation knowledge an asset
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
