Description:
  • Balancing and layering colours
  • Clean/prep elements for paint
  • Selecting and mixing colours to match a sample colour
  • Sanding, filling elements as part of its preparation
  • Masking areas that are not included to be painted
  • Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent
  • May act as a lead person in group
  • Communicate with the Production Manager/Lead Fabricator
  • Interpret designers’ small-scale ideas and develop them into full-scale reproductions
  • Handle scenic painting materials safely
  • Work independently but also as a part of a team
  • Work to deadline
  • Create texture and colour samples from the designer’s model or elevations
  • Priming and base-coating scenery as necessary
  • Cleaning the paint are in completion of project
  • Fabricate props, cardboard, plastics rubber, cloth, metal and other material
  • Redesign or modify props as directed and required
  • Other duties as presented by your manager

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Have excellent, comprehensive artistic and scenic skills
  • Know about basic scenic painting techniques, layouts and paint application skills, and colour mixing
  • Be talented in the fine art skills of sketching, rendering and painting
  • Be skilled in techniques such as marbling, ragging, wood graining and texturing
  • Have a good understanding of art history, period styles, motifs and architecture Schedule "D" history, period styles, motifs and architecture
