Osterhout Design Group - Consumer Electronics Show

Following design collaboration with Osterhout Design Group (ODG), ASTOUND fabricated and installed their striking two-storey booth at CES 2017. For this year’s show, ODG placed emphasis on expanding their footprint while creating a high-end immersive brand experience as they unveiled their new R-8 and R-9 smartglasses. Two 8-foot circular demo tables, which held stationary mounts to display the smartglasses, were the center of attention in the lower level of the booth.

Guests were treated to an unforgettable augmented reality experience by donning the smartglasses while four VIP demo rooms on the upper level provided continued and focused interactivity for key guests. Attendees were able to walk right up to a pair of glasses and watch a preview of an interactive racing game, augmented football and a map of Tokyo—all which combine augmented, virtual and mixed reality.

The semi-enclosed booth was outfitted in translucent smoked vinyl which softened dark colors while sleek 20-foot fabric walls created a truly seamless exterior which dominated the show floor. Custom vertical lightboxes in each corner—clad with ODG pixel branding—gave the exterior an extra pop of colour.

A gratifying user experience and enticing booth design led to a significant increase in booth guests compared to the previous year, with a high percentage of overall convention attendees passing through.
