The new WPP campus in Toronto features locally-inspired art pieces which required specialty fabrication by a local partner.

ASTOUND was contracted by UK-based art studio, Acrylicize, to engineer and fabricate these art pieces. With the client overseas and only renders to work from, our project management team was a critical link between the Acrylicize team and ­the solutions that we engineered and fabricated based on the renders provided.

For several of the pieces, we conducted several tests and adjustments to the initial designs to address fabrication challenges such as fire-resistant finishes, site conditions, and unexpected supply chain issues. Throughout the process, we prepared mockups and samples that were shared with the client over video calls.
