Working directly with Clive and ASTOUND, Facebook leveraged the annual Grace Hopper Celebration to focus on recruiting women in technology directly from the trade show floor through unique interactive pieces showcasing Facebook’s many brands—WhatsApp, Oculus, Instagram and Facebook.
The booth was organized into four primary areas for hopeful candidates to experience before introducing themselves to a Facebook employee. These included an Instagram geodesic photo-op dome, the Oculus product display, an immersive WhatsApp phone booth, and the colorful and textured Facebook wall. A hopeful applicant would then supply their resume, which would be placed into one of the twelve mailboxes per department for the next round of interviews.
