JORDAN RE2PECT CHAMPS CHICAGO

RETAIL EXPERIENCES

OVERVIEW

Over his two-decade career, Derek Jeter exemplified and set the blueprint for how to give and earn respect on and off the field. What began as a moment to honor the player’s storied career has evolved into a mindset shared by Jordan Brand athletes across the world: RE2PECT. To celebrate RE2PECT Above All, Jordan Brand, in partnership with Champs, celebrated seven Chicago heroes for their commitment to helping the community and inducted each one to the Champs Sports Wall of Champions during a VIP event at the launch of the new flagship Champs store in Chicago.

EXPERIENCE

Hosted in the new Champs store in Chicago, guests were immersed in a full-on Jordan event—complete with performance stage, product showcases, and retail shop-in-shop. To pay the necessary respects to the recipients, each individual was given the stage to speak to the media and attendees about their journey and how they reached where they are now through by earning respect. The seven recipients were:

  • Aleta Clark – Community Activist/Founder of ‘Hugs No Slugs
  • Andrew Barber – Creator of Fake Shore Drive
  • Jabari Parker – 4x Illinois high school basketball Champion, high school All-American, NBA player, member of the Jordan Brand family
  • Justin Johnson, Founder of ‘Kicks For The City’
  • Kevin Coval – Director of Young Chicago Authors/Founder of Louder Than A Bomb
  • Monica Haslip – Founder of Little Black Pearl
  • Sonny Parker – Founder of the Sonny Parker Foundation, Chicago basketball legend
