World of Barbie

Kilburn was seeking a reliable and premium fabrication partner that they could trust with highly accurate fabrication and install.

As the main builder on the project, ASTOUND was largely responsible for bringing the renderings approved by Mattel to life through high-quality fabrication. This scope included fabrication of all wall panels and custom theming fabrication for several of the activity stations; full-size Barbie Dreamhouse, climbing wall, music studio, pool ball pit with patio, and much more. The full space was centered around the main courtyard where guests had easy access to each interactive area.

The iconic Malibu Dream House was the first thing guests see upon entering the space and allowed them to live their own Barbie fantasies in a life-sized version of Barbie’s Dream House, equipped with all the colorful accessories and furniture you could need. Throughout the space, different activities highlight different careers that Barbie has explored over the past six decades of fun, from musician to astronaut and everything in between.
